Adrienne was thrilled to be in wonderful company this past Saturday evening as she was a special guest at the Jeanne S. Robertson comedy show held in Smithfield, NC at Johnston Community College. Mrs. Robertson, Miss North Carolina 1963 and the tallest contestant ever at Miss America, entertained a sold out crowd and was delighted to invite Adrienne to sit right on the front row! Also in attendance that evening was Lulong Ogburn Medlin, Miss North Carolina 1951, still looking as lovely as always! Mrs. Medlin won her title as Miss North Carolina while representing her hometown of Smithfield as Miss Johnston County and was the second runner up to Miss America and double preliminary winner when she competed in Atlantic City later that year! Jeanne Robertson was the Miss Congeniality winner during her year of competition at Miss America. A $1,000 scholarship is given each year to a Miss North Carolina contestant who is voted upon by her peers during pageant week. The award is given by Jeanne Robertson, and we are so very thankful for her continued support of our program. Several Miss North Carolina Executive Board and Committee members were in attendance; Alan Clouse, Kevin Driver, Kay Dickinson, Deborah Rosenberg and many more had a wonderful evening being truly entertained by one of America’s best comediennes!
