RALEIGH 6/20/2018 – Preliminary competitions continued tonight at Raleigh’s Memorial Auditorium for the 2018 Miss North Carolina and MNCOTeen pageants.

Grabbing the preliminary awards for the second preliminary competition were Miss Wilson, Jerenae Raeford, grabbing the Talent Award and Miss Spivey’s Corner, Madison Bryant, taking home the Lifestyle & Fitness Award.
In MNCOTeen awards Miss Gaston County’s Outstanding Teen, Lilly Beaver, received the Talent Award and Miss Mecklenburg County’s Outstanding Teen, McKenzie Cox, garnered the Evening Gown and Onstage Question Award.
The following candidates received the North Carolina Electric Membership Association Cooperative STEM Scholarships:

  • Miss Statesville, Alyssa Johnson
  • Miss Blue Ridge Valley, Caroline Parris
  • Miss Greater Sampson County, Grace Ann Carroll
  • Miss Shelby, Jaeleigh Clark
  • Miss Central Carolina, Tiffany Smith

The Julie Caudle Fields Public Service Scholarship was awarded to Miss Campbell University, Nicole Lonesky

The 2018 Best New Local award was given to Tracy Alford and Franklin Finch, Co-Executive Directors of the Miss Zebulon Organization.

Preliminary competitions for Miss North Carolina and Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen will start June 19-21 at Raleigh’s Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts. The Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen competition will conclude with the final competition on June 22 at 6pm. Miss North Carolina 2018 will be crowned at 8pm live on ABC11 and ABC11.com.
