RALEIGH 6/21/2018 – Preliminary competitions wrapped up tonight at Raleigh’s Memorial Auditorium for the 2018 Miss North Carolina and MNCOTeen pageants.

Grabbing the final preliminary awards were Miss Clayton, Lauren Walsh, grabbing the Talent Award and Miss High Point, Hannah Welborn-Lewis and Miss Wilmington, Carli Batson, tying for the Lifestyle & Fitness Award.
In MNCOTeen awards Miss Cabarrus County’s Outstanding Teen, Harley Tilque, received the Talent Award and Miss Duplin County’s Outstanding Teen, garnered the Evening Gown and Onstage Question Award.
The following candidates received the Wells Fargo NC Community Impact Scholarships:

  • Miss Metrolina, Laura Matrazzo
  • Miss Goldsboro, Bailey Stamper
  • Miss Greater Carolina, Autumn Hubbard
  • Miss Gastonia, Sophia Kellstrom
  • Miss Rose Hill, Julia Walsh

The Spirit of Miss North Carolina Service Award was awarded to Miss Metrolina, Laura Matrazzo.

The Victoria Huggins Spirit of Service Scholarship was awarded to Miss Greater Sampson County, Grace Ann Carroll.

The Local Production of the Year was awarded to the Miss Fayetteville Competition, led by Heather McManus.

The Local of the Year was awarded to the Miss Capital City, Clayton, Cleveland Organization led by John Norris.

The State Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Miss NC Field Directors, Melody Kivett and Morgan Kivett White.

Preliminary competitions for Miss North Carolina and Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen will start June 19-21 at Raleigh’s Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts. The Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen competition will conclude with the final competition on June 22 at 6pm. Miss North Carolina 2018 will be crowned at 8pm live on ABC11 and ABC11.com.
