01/15/17 Raleigh, NC – The Miss North Carolina Organization and ABC11, an ABC affiliate, announced today plans to live broadcast the 2017 Miss North Carolina pageant. The event will take place June 24 at Raleigh’s Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts and telecast live on ABC11’s local programming channels. Also, the broadcast will be streamed world-wide on ABC11.com.

“ABC has supported our national Miss America competition for many years and I am excited to have that same support here in Raleigh for our state pageant,” Beth Knox, Executive Director for the Miss NC Organization noted. “I am looking forward to seeing how our organization and ABC11’s team, together, showcase how the Miss NC organization positively impacts young women across our State.”

The Miss North Carolina Pageant, a state preliminary to the Miss America pageant, will conduct preliminary competition June 21-23 at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts. Each contestant will compete in Private Interview, Talent, Evening Gown & On-Stage Question, and Lifestyle & Fitness.

“ABC and Miss America have had a long partnership,” noted Caroline Welch, President and General Manager for ABC11. “ABC11 is thrilled to join our local Miss North Carolina pageant in highlighting the incredibly smart and talented young women of our state who are vying for scholarship money and a chance to move on to the national competition.”
