01/30/2020 Raleigh, NC – The Miss North Carolina Organization announced today the addition of Mike Golden to the organization’s Board of Directors. Golden has been a volunteer with the Miss America Organization for forty years serving at both the state and local levels.

Mike served as Head Judge on the state panel in 2018 that chose Nia Franklin as Miss New York, who was crowned Miss America 2019. Previously, Mike served as Field Director for the Miss North Carolina Organization for ten years as well as being Executive Director and Business Manager for the Miss Elkin Valley Competition for eight years.

In addition to his volunteer efforts through Miss America, Mike is also civically active in his community. He currently served on the board of the North Carolina Symphony, a director and a member of the Executive Board for the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, and a director for Triangle Interfaith Food Shuttle. Prior to moving to Raleigh in late 2017, he resided in Washington DC for seven years where he served on the Executive Committee and Chairman of Corporate Development for the National Symphony Orchestra, a division of the Kennedy Center.  In addition, he served as treasurer and board member for DC Central Kitchen, a board member for Northern Virginia Technology Council, a member of the Madison Council for the United States Library of Congress, and Honorary Chair of Greater Washington Urban League Gala.

Mike is an Executive Vice President of Wells Fargo for over thirty years, where he currently serves as Regional President for the Triangle Region in North Carolina. He previously served as Regional President for the Capital Region in Washington DC and for the Greater Georgia region in Atlanta, Georgia.  Mike holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Finance from the University of North Carolina and is married with two children.  He currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina.
