The Miss America Organization is committed to supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in their mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible in our hospitals. And the Miss North Carolina Organization is doing everything possible to support this mission.

Sixty-two children enter a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital for treatment every minute. Whether they suffer from common childhood afflictions like asthma and broken bones, or fight bigger challenges like birth defects or cancer, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals provide comfort, treatment and hope to millions of sick kids. In fact, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals treat one in 10 children in North America each year.

The Miss America Organization and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals share a commitment to raise awareness and funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across the country as well as the Miss America Scholarship Program. This partnership creates the following opportunities for candidates and Miss America titleholders:

  • Miss America acts as a goodwill ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals throughout her year of service.
  • Miss America candidates at all levels raise money and awareness for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the Miss America Scholarship Program.
  • Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is the national social impact initiative for the Miss America Organization.
  • The tradition of the social impact initiative continues and candidates and titleholders can raise awareness for their chosen advocacy cause.
  • North Carolina supports three CMNH hospitals in our state:  Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, Duke Children’s Hospital in Durham, and Vidant Children’s Hospital in Greenville.
  • Miss North Carolina is a mistress of ceremonies each June for the Greenville CMNH Telethon, and our local titleholders are invited each year to volunteer by answering phones on the telecast.

About Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals raises funds for 170 children’s hospitals across North America, which, in turn, use the money where it’s needed the most. When a donation is given, it stays in the community, ensuring that every dollar is helping local kids. Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $4 billion, most of it $1 at a time. These donations have gone to support research and training, purchase equipment and pay for uncompensated care, all in support of our mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
